I looked at the world
From the mountain top
As I pondered on death
I was a protector
My being filled with power
For that sole purpose
And yet in my heart
I knew I was no immortal
The reaper shall claim my soul
Then what
Will the world crumble
Or will it continue to fight
Was there ever a need for me
And as I glanced towards the future
A threat which filled
My already weary heart
With foreboding
And then I knew what must be
The world shall move on
Mankind will survive
Their determination shall bear with them
And I will remain in the shadows
Fighting of foes
And preparing for the war
Apparent in the future
And when my time shall suffice
The legacy of my determination
Shall be passed
Generation to generation
From my children to their own
Till the time
Shall come when the threat is appeased.
